My four year old niece puts so much detail in her pictures. It is a reflection of her growing abilities and attention to detail! I enjoy children's art. The snail has to be the most impressive part of this picture.
My niece spends quite a bit of time with me and I try to see her as my niece and not a preschools student. I allow her teachers to keep track of all those developmental milestones and whether or not she is on task. Of course I check in occasionally because she is my niece. After all- why should she not have the luxury of having her very own child developmental expert. When I do check in on her development and take a more analytical look at her skill set it is impressive to me still to see the smallest of accomplishments. A feeling of awe came over me when I initially saw this drawing. I could not believe my baby had progressed to drawing pictures with such detail. I've observed children's writing for years and I watch this miracle happen all the time. This miracle was even more special because it was my niece.
